Oh yeah! That song was notorious for that. There was an advert for (I think) TDK audio cassettes years ago bragging about what a clear recording you got, and one of the examples they used (in terms of deciphering lyrics) was this one. The Israelites was on the other advert.
Did any of that make any sense? -
